Home Remodeling, Repairs & Improvements
From the small repair that’s been bothering you to the remodel you’ve been planning, Handy Andy’s takes on projects big and small. You get hands-on owner involvement, practical solutions, and someone managing the details from start to finish.
You shouldn’t have to manage the whole project yourself.
Hiring a contractor should make the project easier—not turn you into the project manager. We help plan the work, coordinate the people needed, solve problems as they come up and keep the job moving toward a finished result.
You are not simply handed off after the estimate. The owner stays closely involved, is frequently on site and works with the crew to keep an eye on the details as the project moves forward.
If the job needs an electrician, plumber, HVAC contractor or another specialist, we help coordinate the work so you are not left managing several separate contractors on your own.
Older homes and remodeling projects can uncover surprises. We cannot promise they will never happen, but when they do, we work to understand the problem, explain the options and find a practical way forward.
The goal is not to be the cheapest bid. It is to do the work well, communicate clearly and give you solid value for what the project actually requires.
A small job doesn’t have to feel too small to call.
We take on smaller repairs, one-off replacements and grouped home-improvement projects in addition to larger work. Sometimes the fix really is simple. Sometimes opening things up reveals a bigger problem. Either way, we look for the level of repair that makes sense for your home instead of automatically turning a small issue into a major project.
Start with what needs to be done.
You do not need to decide whether your project belongs in a “repair,” “carpentry” or “remodeling” category before reaching out. Start with the problem or the improvement you have in mind, and we can help figure out the right path from there.
Decks & Outdoor Living
Whether you need a few problem areas repaired or the whole deck rebuilt, we can look at what is there and help determine what actually needs to be done.
- Deck boards, stairs, railings and localized repairs
- Joist, beam, post and framing repairs
- Re-decking when existing framing is suitable
- Full deck replacement and new construction
- Composite decking, railings and porch improvements
Remodeling
When a remodel involves framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and finishes, we bring the pieces together as one project instead of leaving you to coordinate everyone separately.
- Basement remodeling and finishing
- Room and garage conversions
- Interior layout and framing changes
- Projects involving several areas or types of work
- Coordination of electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors and other specialists as needed
Carpentry & Framing
Carpentry shows up in everything from a small rotten trim repair to stairs, framing changes and larger home-improvement projects.
- Interior and exterior carpentry repairs
- Framing and framing modifications
- Exterior wood rot and trim repairs
- Stairs, specialty woodwork, beams, posts and other carpentry details
- Carpentry as part of larger renovations
Structural Repairs
When rot, age, movement or questionable existing work affects the structure, we look beyond the visible damage and address what is actually supporting the home or deck.
- Deck joists, beams, girders and posts
- Footings and support corrections
- Rot-damaged structural wood
- Framing repairs and reinforcement
- Hidden structural problems uncovered during other work
Smaller and specialty projects are still part of what we do.
Window & Door Installation
You do not need a whole-house window project to call us. We regularly replace individual windows and doors that are damaged, rotting, leaking or simply no longer working properly—and we can address the trim, framing and weatherproofing around the opening when needed.
- Individual damaged or rotted window replacement
- Exterior and interior door replacement
- French doors and other larger door units
- Framing, trim, sill and weatherproofing repairs around the opening
Handyman & Minor Home Repairs
Not every project needs to be a remodel. If you have a smaller repair—or a list of things that have been piling up—we can often take care of several items together and make the visit worthwhile.
- Small siding, fascia, soffit and exterior trim repairs
- Door adjustments, weatherstripping and minor carpentry
- Drywall patches, touch-up painting and similar repair work
- Minor fixture, plumbing or electrical items when appropriate
- Grouped repair lists that make sense to complete together
If a “small repair” turns out to need an electrician, plumber or other specialist, we can help coordinate the next step instead of leaving you to start over with a list of separate service calls.

The deck boards are only the part you see. A composite deck that looks good years from now also depends on solid framing, proper fastening, clean edges, durable stairs and railings, and details that are built to handle weather and everyday use.
- Small repairs when the rest of the deck remains serviceable
- Re-decking when the existing framing is suitable for reuse
- New composite deck construction and full deck replacement
- Picture-frame borders, hidden fasteners and finished edge details
- Composite or metal railing systems, stairs and risers
- Structural framing repairs discovered during deck work
What you see matters. What you don’t see matters too.
The finished room or deck should look good, but the work behind it matters just as much. These are photos from our own projects showing both the finished result and the construction that helps it last.
Composite Deck Construction
Low-maintenance decking, clean border details, durable railings and finished stairs built as one complete system.
Framing & Structural Deck Work
Opening up the structure when needed so damaged or inadequate framing can be addressed before the finished surface goes back on.
Residential Remodeling
Bringing framing, electrical, plumbing, finishes and the other moving pieces together into one completed space.

You do not need to know what kind of contractor you need or exactly how the problem should be fixed. Tell us what you are seeing, what you would like to change and where the project is located. We can ask the right questions from there.

A few things homeowners often want to know
Do you only take on large projects?
No. Larger decks, remodeling, carpentry and structural repairs are an important part of our work, but smaller repairs and one-off replacements are welcome too. We look at what your home actually needs rather than starting with a minimum project size.
Can you handle a small deck repair instead of replacing the whole deck?
Yes, when the surrounding structure is in serviceable condition. Deck work can range from individual boards, stairs and railing repairs to localized framing repairs, re-decking and full replacement. We look at the condition of the existing deck before recommending the level of work.
Do you install individual windows and doors?
Yes. Many of our window and door projects are one-off replacements for damaged, rotted or poorly operating units rather than whole-house replacement projects.
Who manages the plumbers, electricians and other specialists on a remodeling project?
When a project needs plumbers, electricians, HVAC contractors or other specialists, we coordinate that work as part of the overall project so you do not have to manage everyone yourself.
What happens if an unexpected problem comes up during construction?
Existing homes can hide surprises. We cannot promise that every project will go exactly as expected, but when something comes up we work to identify the problem, explain the options and find a practical way forward.
What areas do you serve?
Our primary service area is North and Northwest Metro Atlanta, including Marietta, East Cobb, Smyrna, Vinings, Buckhead, Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Kennesaw, Acworth, Woodstock and Canton.
